Livara Set To Empower 80,000 Female Shea Farmers

Nyowe Ventures, Livara’s mother company, is implementing a Women Economic Empowerment project by United Nations Capital Development Fund to empower 100,000 shea farmers (80% women) in Northern Uganda over the next 2 years. 

It’s been quite a journey since this amazing project was embarked on in December 2022 in partnership with UNCDF. Within this brief period, farmers have already noticed a visible and tangible benefit.

Livara’s vision was to make the shea supply chain more efficient for all value chain participants, not only for us. But what better method to accomplish it while simultaneously helping the locals, particularly the women? This is the change we need.

The project aims to digitize and empower the activities of 100,000 shea farmers, while ensuring that 10,000 of those farmers acquire phones. All of this, within only 2 years and with a budget of USD 500,000. Find out everything we’re looking to achieve within this time frame here.
